Thailand has revolutionized the “Bend It Like Beckham” phrase literally and to a new dimension, when a “L” shaped football field was unveiled in a space constrained location at Bangkok.
The Khlong Toei district, which is densely populated saw its first football field and the world’s first non-rectangular football field, which was built by AP Thailand in partnership with CJ Agency a Digital works agency as a part of its multi location – multi playfields project.
AP has built unconventional play areas in restricted spaces and the concept has caught on like wildfire in the area. Un-utilised dumping grounds have been used for this project and densely populated areas with limited space for recreational areas are now the focus areas for such construction.
AP says that this unconventional form of playground fosters creativity and improves relationships in communities. They say that all fields have been designed to promote fair play.
