A bike and a car caught fire at Patel circle on Thursday night.
It was around 9 p.m. when a car and a bike parked outside Panwar Motors auto workshop caught fire. The two vehicles were probably there for the purpose of repair. Fire brigade from Municipal Corporation reached the spot and doused the fire.
Police is investigating the matter. Whether the fire was a result of short circuit or whether the vehicles were purposely set on fire are the points of doubt. It is being suspected that since there is a wine shop near the auto workshop, there are all the chances that someone deliberately set the vehicles to fire.
Police were informed that an old car was parked outside Panwar Motors since last one month. It is not yet known as to who parked the bike near the car and when. As per eyewitnesses, first the bike caught fire and it spread onto the car. The bike is completely charred whereas it’s just the body of the car that got burnt.
