Maruti Suzuki India limited will be setting up Automobile Skill Enhancement Centre (ASEC) in Udaipur in the next three months. This is part of Maruti’s plan to set up ASEC in 15 Govt. run ITIs across 11 states.
The ASEC are part of Maruti’s skill development initiative under its CSR programme. As part of the plan, each ASEC will have state of the art workshops for providing training in automotive service and repair to students. These workshops will also have latest Maruti vehicles, service tools and equipments.
Maruti will also appoint full time trainers at the centre and provide training to existing ITI trainers. Rs 6 Cr will be spent by Maruti under this initiative and it expects 600 students to benefit out of this programme annually.
The ASEC in Udaipur is expected to be fully functional by August 2017 and students will then be able to enrol and take benefit from these.
