State Government has granted approval for a twin lane underpass at Madri cross-section on the Pratapnagar Balicha highway. This underpass will give immense relief to the residents of Madri, Kanpur, Bhoiyyon ki Pancholi, Lakadwas and other villages nearby.
UIT had been in discussion with state Government for quite some time on this underpass. As per the approved plan, the underpass will begin near the Petrol pump at the end of Uday Vihar residential colony. Around Rs 5 Cr has been budgeted for the project.
Underpass will have 2 lanes of 4 metre width each and will allow for two wheeler and low-height four wheeler to pass.
In parallel, work will also begin on broadening the road from Thokar Chauraha towards Madri. Along with broadening the road, fresh construction of 1.5Km road from Udaipur Distillary till the bypass will also take place.
Ram Nivas Mehta, Secretary UIT mentioned that withe the approval now in place, work will shortly commence on the Underpass. The underpass is expected to take a year to complete.
